ABC Company is a business which needs to monitor and manage the performance of staff carefully. Performance management is the process of establishing goals and measuring performance against these goals.

ABC’s effective performance management plan:
The overall performance management system of ABC is quite poor. Although staffs are not performing, it is not good to terminate the staff’s employment without any notice or warnings. Allex needs to be warned before being terminated. There is also a lack of training which could resolve Allex’s problem.
Manager provides employee with a performance management system/process: clear statement of goals and objectives; the provision of feedback on individual performance against the set objectives; and. specified period for the set objectives to be achieved.
Performance expectations and goals are the foundation for effective performance management and individual and organization success. An action plan is created to develop specific skills and capabilities that are required to perform successfully in a current role or to prepare for future opportunities.
Employers are looking for more effective ways to promote organizational goals to increase their chances of success, and a large part of that strategy comes down to performance management. Companies that are better linking their employees to the business strategy are seeing results like increased revenue, increased customer satisfaction, increased quality and a higher shareholder return.
ABC conducted the performance management through many methods. The staff which were performing will were identified and the staff which were underperforming were also identified. Allex was identified as a low performing staff and will soon get a suitable and appropriate punishment.

Discussion in team meetings – a casual discussion about performance and strategies of different staff. The manager can use this to tell staff where they can improve in and what they need to do better.
Socialising Outside of Work – chats and discussions can lead to good feedback. This is also a more casual way of encouraging workers, without making them feel bad.

Employee performance evaluations and progressive discipline go hand in hand as tools supervisors and managers can successfully use to correct behavior, motivate employees, and set employee goals. Generally, most employers conduct written performance reviews annually or semi-annually. However, all companies should consider conducting unscheduled reviews if changes occur in an employee’s performance or duties.
