Job descriptions and person specifications

The job description are important for giving the applicant information about what are need and expected from the applicant. It is important for the create of the job description to make sure that there is no comments that would discriminate a applicants. Any preferred option must be checked through the diversity policy.


My Restaurant uses a wide range of advertising to gain Worker and employees. This is important as it can fill any vacancies make sure that the advertising does not discriminate against any EEO groups, it will:

  • Say My Restaurant promotes Equal Opportunities Employer
  • Make sure that no one is discriminated, left out or discouraged to apply for any opportunities.
  • Make sure that the job description and person specification is followed carefully without discrimination
  • Provide correct instructions to all that want to apply
  • Applications

    Every applicants will receive a application that only require information that relates to the skills talents of the applicant. There will then be a short list, which is when many applicants are discarded only because of their skills and talents. This shortlist will have the candidates with the highest skills, knowledge and experience. The shortlist will then be invited for interviews.

    The people that analyse the applicants will be:

  • Given the selection criteria and must follow this criteria
  • Trained and given guidance about how to deal with groups that are mentions in the policy statement.
  • Aware of all misunderstandings that could occur through cultural differences.
  • Interviewing

  • At least 2 people on the interview panel
  • The details of the panel will be given to the applicant beforehand
  • Questions must only be asked for related information
  • Disabled applicants will be given assistants about how they can adjust
  • Notes must be taken by all panel members
  • Every candidate will receive a question about their eligibility for working in My Restaurant.
  • Selection

  • All candidates will receive a score
  • The applicant with the best score will receive the position
  • The applicant that scores best will then be CRB checked for any problems that could occur
  • Recommendation

    Advertising – must be direct, specific and attract only the people that are suited to the job.

    Training – the organisation must train the required skills and make sure that the applicant and ready for the job.

    Job purpose:

    To make sure that the company is in the best financial position possible. Also the finance manager must take care of all financial responsibilities within my restaurant, and find any financial opportunities that could benefit my restaurant.
