    They are the largest organisation devoted to developing the coaching industry by setting high coaching standards, creating a global network of highly trained coaches and offering independent certification.

  • Name two coaching regulatory bodies and their purpose.
  • ICF is committed to meaningful professional self-governance. ICF’s self-governance foundation comprises and depends upon a variety of standards and practices, supported by the efforts of the ICF Global Board, volunteer leaders, and ICF Members and Credential-holders.

    The Association for Coaching UK (AC UK) is part of the global Association for Coaching offering. Although the AC started its operations in the UK it has spread throughout the world and now has a number of countries interested in its offering who are setting up associations in their country of origin.

  • What are coaching service agreements for external coaches and how might these be structured?
  • To enable partners to determine and agree on how the coaching process will work and provides a guide to expected outcomes. This agreement outlines the contribution of each of the participants, the process, expected outcomes and arrangements for any variation in the process.

    ICF has accredited more than 500 programs offering coach-specific training. All of these programs have submitted their curriculums for review, and we have found them to be in alignment with ICF’s Code of Ethics and Core Competencies for coaches. These programs and their leaders are also obliged to follow ICF’s stringent Code of Conduct for training programs.

  • The Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) was introduced to promote and protect the privacy of individuals and to regulate how Australian Government agencies and organisations with an annual turnover of more than $3 million, and some other organisations, handle personal information.

  • Which legislations regulate copyright and protection of intellectual property? Why is this important to coaching businesses or organisations using their internal training materials?
  • These reviews often result in changes to IP legislation with the aim of improving the robustness of IP in Australia such as the IP Laws Amendment Bill 2014 and the IP Laws Amendment Act 2015. We aim for a system that strikes a balance between public and private interest to encourage innovation.
