You are a Learning and Development Manager for Yellow and Gold Sports Company. Yellow and Gold Sports has several retail outlets in QLD and NSW. It specialises in selling various brands of activewear for multiple sports.

In a meeting with your Human Resource Manager and General Manager, it was highlighted that the company was struggling to attract internal candidates for their Management Development Program.

You are required to develop a coaching strategy for management development.

Part 1: Design coaching program

Design and develop a coaching strategy for a coaching program for an organisation that wants to create an emotional intelligence program. You are welcome to create a simulation to make your work represent real-world situations.

Your report must include:

  • Need for and role of coaching in your organisation.
  • Provide a brief overview of your organisation’s context and needs.
  • Development of a department level action plan:
  • o Coaching program purpose and objectives.o Identify key stakeholders who will be consulted to gain support for the program.

    o Identify what other organisational structures will be required to support the program.

    Develop timelines for coaching strategy implementation in consultation with stakeholders.

    Your report must be 1 to 2 pages long.Submit all work as professionally written documents within the timeframe allocated.

    Your trainer/assessor will provide your group with feedback.

However, coaches have several recognized techniques and tools to draw on in almost any coaching situation.

    Coaching is a business relationship between the organization, the coach and the person being coached, and it involves a tailored approach to fit the client.
