A. BBQfun Legislative requirements
1. Complying with Australian Consumer Law and having sales terms (mandatory)
All businesses in Australia that sell to consumers must comply with the national laws relating to consumer law and consumers rights.
2. Including contact information online (mandatory)
It is mandatory for businesses to have key business contact information – including a company name, physical address and ACN – on letterheads and invoices. In the digital age, she adds, this can be interpreted to include websites, so you should have full contact details and your ACN clearly displayed on your website.
The Privacy Act deals with the collection and use of personal information. This was updated in March 2014 to require more disclosure of how businesses collect and use personal or sensitive information.
These days, businesses’ IP – such as images and product descriptions – are easily available online. Under Australian IP law, whoever creates a piece of work owns the copyright to it.
B. BBQfun Policies and Procedures
The policies, procedures and standards of the e-commerce website should be clearly accessible to all visitors and stakeholders. This is a very important information which highlights all of the rules and regulations that the visitors must follow when using the website. The policies and procedures should also state policies which protect customer confidentiality and integrity, to make sure that customers are not impacting the experience of other customers.
There are many confidentiality issues when developing and maintaining an e-commerce website. The most significant confidentiality issue would be security of the storage of personal information about accounts. The company must therefore, make sure that the storage system, or database is secured with a reliable password encryption as well as a firewall, proxy, etc. for preventing hackers to access the database.
Emails can also be risky, as there are cases where people can intercept emails, using certain illegal programs. Because of this, emails should not contain personal and confidential information, as it is too risky to hold.
Consumer information integrity is the clearly a problem if sites fail to secure the customer data at the server or the client. Any information that the customers provide, is expected to be honest, and this can cause problems, as the anonymity of the e-commerce business, means that people may be able to get away with fraud and deceit, while not even showing their real face and information.
It is also very hard to trust e-commerce businesses because the majority of these websites are untrustworthy and may even be scams. Due to the fact that e-commerce businesses generally accept payment before shipping, many scammers use this opportunity to scam people by sending fake products or not even sending a product in the end. Therefore, many e-commerce websites find it difficult to start up, as the reputation is very important. Other competitors can also write fake reviews which cause many customers to avoid the website.
Because the e-commerce website is very easy to access, customers can purchase products very easily. Because of this, it is very difficult to estimate the amount of demand a product has on the website because it will change a lot. This can cause availability issues, because products could be sold out very quickly if the deal is good.......
C. Role of the Operational Plan

An operational plan is important because it helps your team to:
D. New Operational Plan
This will be a new operational plan for the development of the e-commerce business. The main operational steps for this plan are:
Developing a large web site is a process that may have far-reaching budgetary, personnel, and public relations consequences for an organization, both during the development of the site and long after its deployment. Too many web sites begin life as ad hoc efforts, created by small interest groups working in isolation from their peers elsewhere in the organization and without fully considering the site’s goals within the context of the organization’s overall mission. The result of poorly planned, hasty development efforts often is an “orphan site,” starved of resources and attention.
