Total quality management is an organisational system that promotes and encourages the continuous improvement of the business, through many different factors. The main factors that total quality management addresses are customer service and waste reduction factors. The main strategy to improve the quality of teams is to use problem solving strategies and techniques, to identify weaknesses and develop strategies to eliminate the weaknesses of the company.
Defects – having to repair or replace products and equipment
Processing – too many features that are not required
Motion – products and people moving too much
Inventory – having to store all the inventory
Over production – creating too much products that are demanded
Transportation – transportation of products, suppliers and materials
Waiting – time wasted due to waiting between supply chain.

Benefits of the Six Sigma and DMAIC
PDCA stands for Plan-Do-Check-Act or Plan-Do-Check-Adjust. This is a 4 step management strategy which involves these 4 words:
Plan – Establish the objectives and processes necessary to deliver results in accordance with the expected output (the target or goals).
Do- Implement the plan, execute the process, make the product, etc.
Check – analyse and monitor the results. Identify any performance gaps and issues and identify ways of improving the performance.
Adjust – use the results from the check step, to identify ways to improve the plan and get a better performance.

This is to make sure that the customers are satisfied with the process and the time order.
Use a scatter diagram to examine theories about cause-and-effect relationships and to search fo root causes of an identified problem.
Use a scatter diagram to design a control system to ensure that gains from quality improvement efforts are maintained.
