  • There are many types of sources that can be used to collect data. Sources can be broken down into primary and secondary sources. One of the most common sources in today’s society is the internet. The number of users on the internet is almost doubling every year. This means the amount of information on the internet is also increasing by a large amount. The easiest and most available way is the internet however this also has the most unreliable amount of data. Another source of data is books. These books are usually published by very knowledgeable authors who have studied and researched their data for a long time. Most non-fiction books are quite trustworthy.

    Another great way to collect data is through creating a survey or questionnaire for customers, subjects or the public to fill out. To make sure that all data is valid and reliable, the questionnaire or survey answers will be analysed carefully and any responses that do not seem legitimate will be discarded and ignored.

  • The objective of this research is to collect information about passengers on travel for business and holiday and indentifying the factors that are influencing the passengers when selecting which airline they purchase. The research will also indentify the factors which are increasing the popularity and trends of the company.

    Collection tools would be things such as the database of storing information. This needs to be quite large to be able to store a lot. Other tools would be the computer, internet and books for secondary research. Primary research is good for finding exact figures for yourself.

  • 6. Prepare a Market Research Plan for approval that includes:

  • I will identify the respondents to collect information through the internet and sending out requests in the company store. These people are the easiest to communicate to. If there is still not enough, emails will be sent to any subscribers to the company.
  • The respondents will be people who use the air travel services regularly and are knowledgeable of the industry and which companies offer the best prices and services. The best respondents will people that have a lot of experience with other companies and have good, constructive feedback for the company.
  • To store the data I will use a safe database for storing all corporate information. Installing a secure virus and hacker detection system will be the best way to safeguard the system. But if the data eventually gets corrupt, a backup system should be installed to keep a second copy of each data in the system. This backup system should be in some other database that is not connected to the parent database.
  • To ensure that my data it valid and of sufficient quality, I will compare the data with 2-3 other sources to make sure that the information is consistent and valid. Books and magazines must be checked for validity and reliability to make sure that all information has been proved. The information must also be compared with by other sources of data. I will also try to use only data from government and other trusted websites to make sure that the information has been proved correct. Information that has been posted on blog websites…
