Where would you advertise and why?

Advertising for Operation Manager should take place immediately to be able to get the successful candidate within the timeline of 2 weeks. HR manager, Bruno, should advertise through Internet job boards like CapitalJobs.com.au or Seek.com.au since these days skilled staff always surf the internet since it is free and convenient to access either on PC or mobile device. It s a mass media which can reach more number of audiences compare to other means such as newspaper which could probably reach the audiences well on Saturday or on weekend.

Bruno should show the advertisement with the requirements to his boss to get the final approval and sign off to start the recruitment process.

Before advertising about the vacant position, Bruno should consider 2 alternative options as following;

  • Consider to fill the vacant position with the current qualified staff, getting them promoted, in the organization, if there is an assistant to Operation Manager who has the well knowing of the job area and has all the competencies to match the job responsibilities as well as duties. He or she should be able to fill in the vacant position. This could save the advertising cost as well as save the time for Makro.
  • Since the Operation Manager is a key position requires to be filled with a skilled & experience staff as well as strong leadership background, HR Manager should also consider to use the recruitment agency or consultant to find a specific categories of staff. This might help in saving time consuming for Makro since the recruitment agency or consultant has already obtained the database of many professional staffs and reaches them faster.
