Task 1

1) A salon manager managers cosmetology-related services and makes sure that the salon is clean, organized and well-staffed. As the manager, you may also perform services like cutting, coloring and styling hair if you have qualifications to do so. The managers are expected to report to the owner information such as revenue, budget needs, staffing changes, clientele satisfaction, inventory issues and salon upkeep.

    Performance plan

    Performance appraisal is a process of summarising, assessing and developing the work performance of an employee. In order to be effective and constructive, the manager should make every effort to obtain as much objective information about the employee’s performance as possible.

    Training employees (and sometimes contractors and other third parties) is a responsibility of Human Resources departments, to varying degrees depending on the policy and philosophy of the organisation. 

     Discipline: an employer may discipline an employee in order to correct his or her behaviour, in response to a perceived misdemeanour or wrongdoing by the employee.

  • Start interview on time.
  • Check with the applicant to see what his/her time limitations are before beginning the interview.
  • Take steps at the beginning of the interview to help the applicant feel comfortable and at ease.
  • After asking questions, review job description with applicant and discuss your expectations.
  • Provide information near the end of the interview about your department and ACU.
  • Avoid making statements that could be alleged to create a contract of employment.
  • When describing the job, avoid using terms like permanent, lifetime or long term.
  • Do not make excessive assurances regarding job security.

    This campaign was approved by the AH&B manager. It will be implemented on the 1/12/2015 and will help to boost Christmas sales. I will be leading the campaign with my team members.

    The only changes that are needed are:

  • Attracting new customers through marketing and advertising
  • Providing better service to customers
  • These must all be done by 1/12/15.
